INDIAN ELECTIONS-With a massive 50-55% of the 671 Million eligible -Voting-the exercise in Democracy has been realized. -Joining the ranks of "Instant" polling and Fast Results'; India deployed E-Voting machines- a Great achievement indeed. Congrats!
-Indigenous designed Voting Machines- with clear markings and SYMBOLS for even illiterate people to vote (Yes remember 50-60% India is still illiterate tho' VERY INTELLIGENT!!- More later)
The best part is the sheer efficiency of the process with updates coming from many constituency via the internet and barring few incidents- a swift and clear elections & results! GOOD NEWS INDIA!!

The amount of info available for analysis and the swift nature of the Carefully planned elections- should make EVERYONE proud of the Institution of Democracy and recognition of people Power & Technological Achievement by India-the largest democracy!
EXIT POLLS -INDIAN STYLE!:
For the first time Organized EXIT-polling was "attempted" by several sources.
NOTE: While Exit polling had been used before- never in this massive scale. Interestingly, this exercise has met with mixed results :-). Me thinks, that Folks are Content to Vote in Secret but may NOT choose to reveal all to EXIT POLLSTERS- PLUS Throw in the factor of "Media -Manipulation" and &aamp;aamp;ammp;ammp;&aamp;ammp;ammp;ammp;ammp;>'''''''<Exit Poll manipulation" --- so u'll see the END RESULTS different than the Polls ;-) .....So without Further Comment:

April to May, 2004 MASSIVE elections in the most Vibrant DEMOCRATIC Elections in the World...with almost 300 MILLION Voters voting......Folks in US and elsewhere should understand how vibrant Democracy and the elections are in India!!
- -Imagine 300 million voters (more than US ENTIRE population) voting
- Imagine-people WALKING 10-15 miles to reach polling stations- after all 70% Indian is still Rural, Agro-based
- Imagine-people who live on DAILY WAGES- giving that up for the right to vote & standing in line for several hours to Vote!!!!
These INTELLIGENT Voters have consistently Voted IN/OUT dozens of Governments both Local and National.
NOW that tells you about about DEMOCRACY & the RIGHT TO VOTE!
NOTE: This phenomenon of maybe being ILLITERATE BUT most folks are not UN-INTELLIGENT!!!- a DISTINCT Difference...... which MANY WESTERN Observers seem to have trouble comprehending.
HENCE they are taken for a ride by "ordinary, illiterate" folks from THIRD WORLD Countries. For example ordinary Afghani or Iraqi folks, post conflict, were many times viewd as being "illiterate, and ill-informed".. But Sure Enough! Many of these folks got a lot of Reward Money by fingering old enemies & settling scores and leading Coalition troops on Merry Go Round- so much so that the Int'l Commitee of RED CROSS says over 80-90% people in detention by Coalition and US troops are INNOCENT!! ( and over $25 Million in reward money spent :-(
FINAL INDIAN ELECTION RESULTS: As of May 12 reading- the day before final results- Seems the BJP led N.D.A. Govt will barely be able to form the next National Government too. What remains to be seen is the margin of Seats garnered by BJP. Whether an outright victory or the need for several alliances to makeup the majority.
Andhra Pradesh has rejected the Cyber CEO ex- Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. A clear indication of the DISCONNECT of the current HIGH TECH Politicians to GROUND REALITY!!
-Literally, while the people received No Water and were met with Escalating prices ..........the current AP government AND Central Governmant & most NRi- NON RESIDENT INDIANS!!! were content to celebrate the High Tech Revolution helping a mere 0.01% of the population while IGNORING the major portion of population- who felt totally disenfranchised!!!.
This portends a VERY SERIOUS MESSAGE To INDIA- USA And THE WORLD!! Repurcussions in terms of WORLD ECONOMY & projected- REFORMS and The place of Basic Needs vs Technological Advancements.
Its more than Just Winning ot losing an Election. The SYSYTEMIC PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS of a Developing Country Need to be addressed- not Molly-coddling a few individuals and Corporates who will tend to get Mega Rich quick!.
The ISSUES CLEARLY were BASIC RIGHTS- Of FOOD-HOUSING/SHELTER and INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS.
And Specifially in Andhra Pradesh- issues of RURAL Development -Womens Rights -Representation of OBC/SCST and Backward Castes Groups- who represent 60% of the population -along with WATER SCARCITY & RISING PRICES.
DOMSESTIC- USA : MILITARY UN-INTELLIGENCE ...:Looks like now the topic has shifted from Military Intelligence Failure to Military Intelligence Perversion......Booklets and handbooks available....
..........Obviously a disconnect between Pentagon- White House civilians - Intelligence Comunity (including CIA) and Each Group trying to Jockey for position by Damaging the Other group...
In ALL THIS people suffer-
American people- Jobs/Lifestyle and Image
Iraqis/Afghani people- All around trouble for the ordinary people facing daily hardships CONTINUING anD COMPUNDED for OVER 2 decades!
