Kuchipudi or Kuchhipudi is an ancient Classical Indian Dance form of over 1,000 years ago
The record was set by dancers who came from 5 Continents and assembled in Cupertino, California in Silicon Valley.
The event also honored Great Gurus of the dance Form as well as local political figures
The event was put together by volunteers of non profit organization Silicon Andhra
Guinness Book of World Records representative Danny Girton took part in the festivites and was on hand to witness and authenticate the World Record aong with Mayor Dolly Sandoval of Cupertino, Vice Mayor Orrin Mahoney, Supervisor Liz Kniss other Councilmembers including Anu Natarajan Citycouncilmember Fremont.
Girton presented the participants with the official declaration of World Record for Maximum Kuchipudi dancers at one time (318) on one stage, on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at De Anza College in Cupertino.
