INDIAN AMERICANS RUNNING FOR POLITICAL OFFICE   Its that time og the year again- with primaries over, the serious candidates for office are now gearing up for the final election in NOVEMBER 2010
Although NOT an election year, the way the last three residents and Parties tussled it out- makes for a heightened activity for most State and Federal races.
    So far The Indian American representation is elected political office has been dismal with only recenyly some high profile folks like BOBBY JINDAL and others making a wave.
     This trend seems ready to be changed- especially with the arrival of President Barrack Obama who it seems has APPOINTED many many Indina -Americans tp key positions in his administration- so the genies is out of the Bootle- and USA politics here we come

Tejaswini Sawant is the first Indian woman as WORLD CHAMP SHOOTER - in the 50m Rifle Prone event with a World record 597 in the 50th World shooting championship in Munich.The 29-year-old Tejaswini shot a series of 100, 100, 10...0, 99, 99 and 99 to beat Joanna Ewa Nowakowska of Poland, who also had a 597 score. Ms Sawant won as she had more inner 10's! Unfortunately the Olympics does NOT have a Womens 50m Prone event so she doesnt get an automtic entry like Abhinav Bindra and others

Jay Goyle has paid his dues and one of his plus points was the turnaround victory 2004 when as a Democrat in a heavily Republican district- Goyle managed to unseat local Assemblyman. He has consolidated his position and WON his primary and a nod from the Democratic National Comm. Wish him Well!

Dr Bera who is aPhysician and also on Board of leading Medical Board in California has made waves by raising a large warchest. Dr BEra- a very impressive personality- is making the rounds and has impressed many people. His fight in the newly redistricted District 3rd Cong District- is an interesting one- as his Challenger is a Senior Congressman DAN LUNGREN (R).
Both have raised sunstatial monye and both GOP and DNC have targetted the race.

While Chaudhary hadChoudhary had represented the area well recently he was in trouble after he lost his DFL Party endorsement a month ago and also acknowledgeed default for $250,000 in Taxes etc Choudhary was one of the longest and higher ranked Indian- American in office in the USA.

With President OBAMA Blessing the Indina-American Community with record number of Appointments- the pandora's box has opened. Both with President OBAMA's election itself- the fact that many naysayers could not see past his skin color- itself gave a HUGE boost of Confidence to all Americans of Color and Minrity Status.
Earlier indicators of BOBBY JUINDAL etc were dismissed as Blips but American peiople DID prove that Utility and Commitment and Merit does PLAY A ROLE and may even get you in position of power.Given some time and effort.
All one can do is to whole heartedly reciprocate and particpate.
FLOODS KILL THOUSANDS AND DISPLACE MILLIONS in PAKISTAN and INDIA The Unseasonal rains and cloud bursts have created havoc mostly along the INDUS river in Pakistan- extending floods from North to South. The flooding affects mostly poor people and washed away Millions' of peoples homes and belongings. The loss is enormous and compunded with a Weak Governnment in place kowtowing to Terrorist elements like LeT and JuD- quick to take advantage of the situation- has NOT helped the local people.
   With UN and Countries around the world rushing disaster relief and aid- even the Government of Pakistan fell to a designed ploy of INHUMAN Terrorist outfits and Mullahs- who called for Not Accepting Aid from India and USA.
This is Utter nonsense and Inhuman for sure. Better senses prevailed from Government of Pakistan after the initial reluctance. Thank god!
However, there is a growing suspicion and concern that Aid and Money donated will be siphoned off by Terror Outfits.
Hopr People of pakistan and Others realize the Inhuman face of Terrorists who DO NOT have the people's best interests at heart.
Right now the need is overwhelming and critical- Hope all is done to address and take care of the pressing problems.
   Earlier reports still indicate Dont forget the Billions in US Tax payer funds that are Still flowing into that regions and the "interlocuters"- most of them who are of dubious nature.

New Indian Rupee Symbol Selected out of 3000 Designs

The New Symbol is a clever design chosen after hundreds were submitted. The symbol incorporates Devanagri Script ie Sanskrit- Hindi etc and reflects the symbol as written under the bar. It was designed by D. Udaya Kumar, a student at the Indian Institute of Technology, who studied typography, scripts and ancient printing methods.
Mr. Kumar’s winning entry was picked from more than 3,000 submissions and five finalists, and approved by the India’s top government ministers
Kumar said it was a great honor to be part of India's history and takes home a prize of 250,000 rupees,( about $5,363.) The symbol will “lend a distinctive character and identity to the currency and further highlight the strength and robustness of the Indian economy,” the Ministry of Finance said It will also help distinguish India’s currency from others with similar or identical names, like the Nepalese and Pakistani rupee, and the Indonesian rupiah.

In fact even guys like Mani Shankar Aiyer ( in US recently) spoke glowingly of Rajiv Gandhi and his 'accomplishments" and NOT a single word abt PV N Rao (who could speak 8 languages and was an intellect etc)

When produced before the Judge on arraignment- FAISAL Calmly recounted and Confessed to his role in a potential Lethal bombing. He shrugged off the Judges' Q's about innocent Children, women etc who may have got killed or injured!.
What prompts a person to become so deranged, anti social and uncaring? Especially a guy who had lived comfortable in the USA and see around him 100's of cases of immigrants from all walks of life including Muslims!! live harmoniously and in peace.
