Terror Bomb Blasts rock India- Ahmedabad Toll rises over 50 after Bangalore (Bengaluru)
-Islamic Jihadi Network Blamed and takes responsibility.
-Pakistan’s ISI Likely behind the Blasts
JULY 26:  In a chilling reminder of how Terrorism has not gone away, serial blasts of bombs by  Islamic oriented terror groups targeted Ahmedabad following last weeks bombs in Bangalore Reports have also come in of bombs found in Surat and defused. This has left the whole country and especialy vulnerable areas on high alert and clamp down by security forces.Sam Rao Indian-American    Condemnation from all quarters has been swift and everyone seems to be aware that the timinmgs of these bomb blasts are too closely coordinated with US India relations on the rise and also obviously designed to de stabilize India.
High Tech cities of Bangalore and Hyderabad have veen targetted with Coiambatore and Ahmedabad for driving a wedge between communities.
The carnage pof Ahmedabad was heinous as following a bomb blast, terrorists delayed the next blast and targeted the trauma wing of the hospital where many victims were rushed!
The chilling and dangerous design of the terrorists could also mean they are trying to target the X ray facilities of hospitals.
This time India has no choice but to act quickly, decisively and target known criminals and terrorists including SIMI (Student Islamic Movement of India) and all branches of the Pakistan Secret Service Agency ISI and their recruits in India.

Changing their outfits names just to throw scent off their trail is a stupid and simple trick which any lawmaker can crack easily and with technology advances, and electronic surveillance etc, the culprits must be brought to justice.

Soon in a week the Worlds attention will be in Beijing, China for the Olympics and first hope and pray there is no such incidence when nations of the world meet in a goodwill game.  But then such wishes and good gestures are for people with humanity not terrorists who plant bombs among innocent civilians.

VIGIL HELD IN SILICON VALLEY TO SUPPORT VICTIMS OF TERROR BOMBS
San Jose, California (Aug 3,2008) :
Recently, India and the world were stunned by the series of coordinated and sinister bomb blasts, in the cities of Ahmedabad and Bengaluru set off in crowded areas, with intentions to harm as many innocent lives as possible.  Many across the world condemned this cowardly act and their evil intentions to take many lives of men women and children and drew comparisons to similar acts like the 9/11 attacks in US, and elsewhere.
In the Silicon Valley, reacting to the horror, many like Girish Thobbi and others resolved to band together in solidarity and invite like minded people to show respect to the victims of the terror bomb blasts and show opposition to the heinous acts.
The vigil to show support for the victims of terror bombings and condemn the attacks, was held at the Caesar Chavez Park in downtown San Jose on Sunday August 3rd and drew nearly 300 participants, many of who brought home made signs and banners to the meeting.
These latest violent incidents came close on the heels of the suicide attack in Kabul, Afghanistan which resulted in 50 deaths and many more injured. This act which was branded by the government of Afghanistan and the Government of India and also the Government of USA as the handiwork of the Pakistan Secret Service ISI, was followed by the multiple bombings in Begaluru (Bangalore), Ahmedabad , and Surat- which killed over 50 people.
Evoking the name of famous US civil rights leader Caesar Chavez and Mahatma Gandhi, speaker after speaker at the Vigil spoke on the virtue of non violence, while calling upon both the governments of India And the USA to deal with terrorist and anti social elements with a firm hand.
With large US and India flags fluttering in the breeze, the stage was set for an evening of solidarity of like minded people, all unified against the menace of terrorism, as Mayor Tony Spitaleri of Sunnyvale decried the attacks and reiterated his pledge and stance to stand in solidarity, which was echoed by Councilmember Otto Lee, a US Navy reserve officer for over 15 years.
Nearly 300 people from over 25 local organizations responded to the call for support for the victims families and many representatives spoke out at the vigil meeting.
Yogi Chugh of the FIA and President Elect of the Indian American Forum for Political Education (IAFPE) said that the people of India and US stand tall in their firm resolve to fight terror, while Interim President of Overseas Friends of BJP(USA) Chandru Bhambhra criticized the actions of the US Government to be vigilant in monitoring the grants to various countries especially Pakistan. Ravi Pathak of Art of Living Foundation, remarked that peace-loving people need to find ways to bring an end to violence and terror together.
Many condemned terrorism as nothing but an act of cowardice and hence has to be dealt with firm and unified international action. Amarjeet Singh of Santa Clara said, “Terrorism has no place in democracy and world we live in today. Killing peaceful, innocent is cowardly act of those who have no spine, guts to face but are cowards."
On the stage youth were well represented as Ms Neharika Bharadwaj, a teenager from San Jose, spoke of the depth of her concern that motivated her to do everything she could to help organize this event and involve several others in making sigs and posters and also launch an online awareness campaign.
Some of the organizations expressing concerns to Government of India for tighter laws against terrorism and more stringent action from the USA were groups like the Federation of Indian Americans of Northern California, National Federation of Indian-American Associations, Kannada Koota, Indian-American organization, Bay Area Telugu Association, Ekal Vidyalaya foundation, Maharashtra Mandal, Bay Area Tamil Sangam, Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, Overseas Friends of BJP, Kashmiri Task Force, Gujarati Cultural Association, Asian American Hotel Owners Association etc. Several non Indians were also present including several drawn to the tenor of the protest.  Morey Shapira and several others represented American-Jewish community and also Democracies Against Terror. While others like prominent community leader Richard Hobbs came in their individual capacity as well.
Each speaker spoke of the enormous cost and sacrifice India and its people have been paying to counter the forces of terrorism and expressed solidarity with all like minded people around the globe who prefer peace, harmony and living in a non violent world.
At the end of the vigil, a resolution was passed unanimously by all participating organizations, expressing solidarity with affected families, urging the Government of India to fight terrorism and calling the USA to use an international approach to combat terrorism.
Ashok Setty of Bangalore, who attended the event with his family said, “In a world as beautiful as ours, there is no place for war or terrorism acts based on religious reasons or otherwise.”

Date & Time:  Sunday August 3, 2008  4:00pm
Venue:           Plaza De Cesar, Chavez Park, Market & Park Ave,San Jose,CA 95113
The gruesome attacks of terror that struck the heart of India on July 25th and 26th left scores of people dead leaving behind a trail of destruction. The serial bomb blasts that were triggered by terrorist groups in more than 25 places within a span of 24 hours in the cities of Bangalore and Ahmedabad were intentionally aimed at breaking the resolve of the Indian people to fight terror in all its forms. The hideous nature of the attackers is evident from the fact that they chose to attack even the hospitals where grievously injured were being treated.
This terrorist act is nothing short of an attack on humanity and the citadels of civilized world. Terrorism knows no boundaries or nationalities. It is a menace that needs to be uprooted. The world needs to unequivocally condemn this dastardly act and not remain mute spectators.
Various Indian organizations, Friends of India and people of Indian origin in the Bay area will be holding a vigil to pay respects to the victims, show solidarity with the Indian people in this hour of grief and pledge support to stringent measures to bring the culprits to justice. This is the moment for us all to show our strongest support and to re-energize our community and the civil society against terrorism. Pakistan ISI Secret Service agency implicated in Terrorbombs by USA

  • U.S. Officials: Pakistani Agents Helped Plan Kabul

U.S. intelligence officials have concluded that elements of Pakistan's military intelligence service provided logistical support to militants who staged last month's deadly car bombing at the Indian Embassy in Afghanistan's capital, U.S. officials familiar with the evidence said yesterday.

The finding, based partly on communication intercepts, has dramatically heightened U.S. concerns about long-standing ties between Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency, or ISI, and Taliban-allied groups that are battling U.S. forces in Afghanistan, according to two U.S. government officials briefed on the matter.

Pakistanis Aided Attack in Kabul, U.S. Officials Say
By MARK MAZZETTI and ERIC SCHMITT

WASHINGTONAmerican intelligence agencies have concluded that members of Pakistans powerful spy service helped plan the deadly July 7 bombing of Indias embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, according to United States government officials.

Afghan and Indian officials removed a body from the Indian Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, after a bombing there on July 7.

The conclusion was based on intercepted communications between Pakistani intelligence officers and militants who carried out the attack, the officials said, providing the clearest evidence to date that Pakistani intelligence officers are actively undermining American efforts to combat militants in the region.
The American officials also said there was new information showing that members of the Pakistani intelligence service were increasingly providing militants with details about the American campaign against them, in some cases allowing militants to avoid American missile strikes in Pakistans tribal areas.
Concerns about the role played by Pakistani intelligence not only has strained relations between the United States and Pakistan, a longtime ally, but also has fanned tensions between Pakistan and its archrival, India. Within days of the bombings, Indian officials accused the Directorate of Inter-Services Intelligence, or ISI, of helping to orchestrate the attack in Kabul, which killed 54, including an Indian defense attach.

U.S. sees Pakistan link to Taliban bombing of embassy
Officials believe members of the powerful ISI spy agency aided in the attack on India's mission in Kabul, Afghanistan.
By Josh Meyer, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
    August 1, 2008
WASHINGTON -- American authorities believe that members of Pakistan's powerful intelligence service assisted the Taliban militants who bombed the Indian Embassy in Afghanistan last month, killing 60 people, a U.S. official confirmed Thursday.
The assessment that at least some elements of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency helped those responsible for the July 7 bombing has significantly deepened U.S. concerns over whether Pakistan can be trusted unequivocally as an ally in the U.S.-declared war on terrorism, according to the official.
That U.S. official and several U.S. intelligence and counter-terrorism authorities said in recent days that the subject of ISI support for the Taliban, affiliated extremists and even parts of Al Qaeda was a central issue in visiting Pakistani Prime Minister Yusaf Raza Gillani's meetings this week with President Bush and other top administration officials.
The Taliban and other extremists operate out of tribal regions in Pakistan along the Afghan border, and Washington believes that the ISI in some cases helps provide them a haven there from which to plot and launch attacks.

U.S. Ties Pakistani Intelligence to Attack in Kabul
    By JAY SOLOMON
    August 2, 2008; Page A9

WASHINGTON -- U.S. government officials have concluded that elements of Pakistan's intelligence service, the Inter-Services Intelligence, or ISI, aided militants in an attack last month on India's embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan.

The U.S. made these conclusions based on telecommunications intercepts linking Pakistani intelligence officials to the Afghan insurgents, who operate out of the tribal regions linking Pakistan and Afghanistan. The U.S. officials said India's security services drew similar conclusions based on their own telecommunications intercepts and intelligence.

    The attack killed 58 people.

"The Indians are absolutely convinced it's true, and they're right," said a U.S. official who has worked extensively on South Asia inside the Bush administration.

The New York Times earlier reported U.S. fears about ISI involvement on its Web site Thursday.
