NOV 4th: Stellar INTERFAITH CONFERENCE held at Jain Temple- Milpitas (SF Bay Area) The 2nd INTERFFAITH conference was excellet attempt by the Jain Center of Northern Jalifornia (JCNC). A very good panel of speakers represented Islamic, Hinduism, Christian, Judaism, Sikhism, Buddhism and of course Jainism The most interesting was that EVERYONE seeme to have learned from each other and the COMMONALITY of thought process was laidout- which was the idea in the first place. Along with a darshan of swamini Shullika Subhamati Mataji and Chanting and singing by couple of groups, the panel discussio was the main offering at the meeting. The Speakers were quite good and learned and each made points succinctly, no doubt hlped by the excellent time management by volunteers of the JCNC. The willingness of the representatives of each faith to accept, expolre and listen was also very, very refreshing Panelists included: Hon.Harendra Shah ( Jainism)- a regular JCNC member and who conducts Swadhtyay (Self study)classes Venerable Jian Hu ( Buddhism), Abbot of Chung Tai Zen Centre if Sunnyvale; Executive Director Bart Charlow (Judaism), The National Conference for Community & Justice- Silicon Valley & Northern California; Hon. Jairami Reddy, Teacher at Chinmaya Mission, San Jose; Reverend Ben daniel, Pastor of foothill Presbyterian Church, San Jose; Hon. Ms. Maha ElGeniadi, CEO Islamic National Group; Hon Ms Jessi Kaur, Founder Int'l Institute of urmat studies Chetan Sanghavi Moderated the discussion.
